VISION &
PRIORITIES

I’m running for Amherst Township Trustee to protect what makes our community special—our green spaces, our small-town charm, and the voices of our residents. Overdevelopment threatens the character of Amherst Township, straining our infrastructure and quality of life. I will stand up for responsible growth that serves our residents—not outside developers—while preserving the peaceful, neighborly feel we all value. I’m also deeply committed to protecting parks and promoting conservation, ensuring future generations can enjoy clean, safe, and accessible natural spaces. From improving trails to securing funding for green initiatives, I will make sustainability a top priority. Most importantly, I will be a trustee who listens. I believe in open, honest communication and transparent leadership that puts people first. Through regular updates, public forums, and responsive governance, I will make sure every resident’s voice is heard—and respected.

A Local Voice for Thoughtful Growth

Jeremy Watson is a lifelong resident of Amherst with a deep appreciation for the values that make this township a great place to live, work, and raise a family. A chiropractor, small business owner, and devoted father, Jeremy is running for Amherst Township Trustee in the upcoming November 4th electiondriven by a desire to protect the township’s character and ensure responsible, community-focused development.

Jeremy’s roots in Amherst Township run deep. When he was just 10 years old, his parents moved the family from the city to the township, where he and his siblings spent their days exploring woods, building forts, and growing up connected to nature. Years later, Jeremy made the same choice for his own family—seeking out space, peace, and the charm that once defined the township.

Today, Jeremy is the proud dad of Hunter and Denver, his two best buds, and his greatest motivation. “Everything I do is with them in mind,” he says. “I want them to grow up the same way I did—surrounded by trees, trails, and the kind of freedom only a place like Amherst Township can offer.”

But that way of life is disappearing

“In the last five years, I’ve seen the landscape change dramatically—trees cleared, green spaces paved, and cookie-cutter housing developments pop up at an unsustainable rate,” says Jeremy. “If we don’t act now, we’ll lose the very things that brought us here in the first place.”

As the owner of Watson Wellness, Jeremy understands the balance between economic opportunity and community well-being. He believes in growth—but not at the cost of the township’s identity.

“I support local business and entrepreneurship,” he explains. “But when commercial and residential development starts to infringe on our quality of life, someone needs to speak up.”

Though new to politics, Jeremy is stepping forward because he believes real change starts with real people—not career politicians.

“I’m not running for power—I’m running to preserve what makes Amherst Township home. I want my kids—and yours—to grow up with trees, trails, and a tight-knit community.”
